Two New Homes Approved Near Bury St Edmunds Town Centre

Plans to build two homes close to a west Suffolk town centre have been approved.

Rees Pryers Architects, on behalf of the applicants, submitted proposals to construct homes in St Andrew’s Street South in Bury St Edmunds.

Documents lodged with West Suffolk Council said the semi-detached, three bedroom homes will be built on overgrown land.

The development will sit slightly back from the road, with parking provided for each property.

Concerns had been raised regarding a loss of privacy to nearby homes and hours of construction work at the site.

One homeowner said: “We feel consideration should be given to the restriction of construction work to normal working hours, particularly weekends due to the close proximity of 30 St. Andrews Street South to the development site.

“We feel the site construction plan should give due accord to the impact of noise, dust and vibration on the occupants of 30 St. Andrews Street South.”

However, an officer’s report said a condition to regulate construction hours during building works would be imposed as the scheme was approved.
